Bell County Arrest History
One arrest can create four linked files. The officer's department writes the incident or offense report and arrest paperwork. Bell County jail staff create the booking record, fingerprints, image, property list, custody status, charge entry, and bond data. Reportable identifiers then move through Texas criminal-history channels to the Department of Public Safety Computerized Criminal History system. Magistration and a prosecutor-filed charge create court records with the District Clerk, County Clerk, or a lower court.
Those files answer different questions. A report states the officer's account and asserted cause. A booking entry confirms intake. The court docket shows what was filed and how it ended. The public DPS name product mainly reports submitted convictions and deferred adjudications, not every local arrest fact. A missing state result does not rule out a Bell County report or booking.
Bell County Inmate Inquiry
The free Bell County New World Inmate Inquiry is the main public booking search. It accepts a name, subject number, booking number, custody filter, and booking-date range. A booking or subject number is more precise than a common name. Select “In Custody” to focus on people now held. Leave it clear when seeking historical bookings retained in the system.
| Field | Type | Required | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Text | Unspecified | Broad person search; verify all details |
| Subject Number | Text | Unspecified | Exact internal person key |
| Booking Number | Text | Unspecified | Exact intake event key |
| In Custody | Checkbox | Optional | Limits results to current detention |
| Booking From / To | Date | Optional | Narrows the intake period |
The official interface is shown below without exposing a person's private data.

The roster is a jail administrative source, not proof that the listed intake charge led to a conviction.
Looking Up Bell County Arrests
Start with what is known and preserve the identifiers returned by each office. A recent booking can lag while intake or release work is still underway.
- Search the inmate portal by name and select “In Custody” for a current detainee.
- Add booking dates, then open the detail and record the booking and subject numbers.
- Note the arresting agency, intake charge, bond, and custody status without calling the charge a conviction.
- If no fresh entry appears, call the Bell County Sheriff's Department at (254) 933-5400.
- Request the narrative report from the agency that made the arrest.
- After filing, check felony cases with the District Clerk and Class A/B misdemeanors with the County Clerk.
Bell County Arrest Report Routing
The jail normally does not hold the full officer narrative. Ask the agency that made the arrest. The Bell County Sheriff's Department handles unincorporated areas, many warrants, and jail intake. Killeen, Temple, Belton, Harker Heights, Nolanville, and Morgan's Point Resort police keep reports their officers create. Constables keep records tied to their precinct work. Texas DPS handles state-highway and trooper matters. Campus, military, and federal incidents may sit outside county police systems.
| Agency | Typical Record | Official Route |
|---|---|---|
| Bell County Sheriff | County arrest, warrant, booking | Sheriff NextRequest |
| Killeen Police | Killeen incident or arrest report | Killeen information requests |
| Temple Police | Temple incident or arrest report | Temple records portal |
| Belton Police | Belton incident or arrest report | Belton Police |
| Texas DPS | Trooper or highway arrest | DPS records route |
Killeen and Temple Report Channels
Killeen Police reports use the city's Texas Public Information Act channel. Supply a report number when possible, or give the full name, date, time, place, and event type. The official Killeen request page appears below.

That route seeks the report created by Killeen Police, while the Bell County roster remains the source for county jail intake.
Temple uses its own public-records portal to take and track requests. The city interface is shown here.

A Temple Police narrative and a Bell County booking profile may concern the same event, but each comes from a different custodian.
Inside a Bell County Arrest Record
A public booking profile can provide the keys needed to locate related files. Public release remains subject to redaction and county publication settings.
| Booking Number | Identifies the specific intake event and is the strongest roster search key. |
|---|---|
| Booking Date & Time | Shows when jail intake occurred, not when a court found guilt. |
| Arresting Agency | Points to the office that holds the incident narrative. |
| Charges | Lists intake allegations that may later be changed or rejected. |
| Bond | May show amount and cash, surety, personal-bond, or hold status. |
| Booking Image | May appear depending on current county publication settings. |
| Release Status | Can show release date or present custody; release is not dismissal. |
Medical and mental-health classification, suicide-watch information, protected housing details, victim identities, Social Security numbers, and other sensitive identifiers are not ordinary public profile fields. Police reports can also redact child and victim data or material that would harm an active investigation.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
The Bell County roster can return both current and retained historical bookings. Its paginated result path confirms that more than one result page may exist. The “In Custody” box changes the practical question: checked, it seeks present detention; unchecked, it can return released bookings still retained. A person may leave custody on bond, personal recognizance, transfer, or another release basis while the criminal case continues.
If a new arrest has not indexed, call the sheriff at (254) 933-5400. Staff can confirm current status when the portal is unavailable or intake is still being entered. The jail and administrative complex is associated with 111 W. Central Avenue, while law-enforcement and jail operations are also associated with 2405 S. Loop 121 in Belton. Call before travel because the public counter and housing assignment can change.
Bell County's 48-Hour Booking Clock
After transport, staff confirm identity and warrants, inventory property, take fingerprints and a booking photograph, screen for health needs, enter charges and bond, and assign housing. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure article 15.17 then requires magistration without needless delay and no later than 48 hours after arrest. The magistrate states the accusation and rights and deals with bail. A cash bond uses the full sum. A surety bond uses an authorized surety. A personal bond allows release on a promise and set terms when approved. A no-bond hold needs court action or resolution of the hold.
Booking flow: Transport › Identity check › Property and prints › Health screening › Charge and bond entry › Housing › Magistration
Bell County Crash Arrest Records
A DWI or other roadside arrest can involve a crash report as well as an officer narrative, booking, and court file. Texas crash reports use the official TxDOT CRIS purchase system. It is not a general Bell County arrest roster.

Use the crash channel only for the CR-3 report, then seek the law-enforcement narrative and court outcome from their own custodians.
Bell County Jail or TDCJ
The county portal covers Bell County custody. A person transferred to state prison should be searched through the TDCJ Online Inmate Search. Texas custody notifications are available through VINELink. Federal custody uses the Bureau of Prisons locator, though a recent federal detainee may require a federal docket or U.S. Marshals check. No verified Bell County Sheriff mobile app was found. The official DPS app offers state sex-offender and most-wanted tools, but it is not the county inmate roster.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest means an officer took someone into custody under claimed legal authority. It does not prove that prosecutors filed each intake charge or that a judge or jury found guilt. Compare the records by creator and purpose.
| Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|
| Created by the arresting agency and jail | Created by the court and reported through state channels |
| Shows an asserted charge and booking | Shows a judgment of guilt when one exists |
| Lives in police and county jail systems | Lives with the clerk and may appear in DPS CCH |
| Can end in release, no filing, dismissal, or acquittal | Can lead to sentence, supervision, or appeal |
A dismissal does not automatically delete a Bell County booking. Texas expunction under Chapter 55A may order destruction of eligible records, while an order of nondisclosure restricts public release in qualifying cases. Juvenile law-enforcement files are generally confidential under Family Code Chapter 58.
Note: Treat every booking allegation as unproved unless a court record supplies a final judgment.
